Over the years I've seen webmasters and SEOs being concerned over boilerplate content, such as repetitive legal disclaimers or navigation on the header or footer of your pages. But Google time and time again has said they can handle it and they don't penalize for this type of content. The search engines are always trying to improve the quality of their results and because of this, the ranking signals are adjusted daily. In most cases these are very minor tweaks, but they are changes nonetheless. One of the first things you ’re going to need to do is to fill your site with great content and to use your keywords throughout. There’s a fine line to be walked here: you need to repeat the phrase a few times to ensure that you create that association but at the same time, you also need to make sure that you don’t overdo it and thereby appear to be spamming. Generally speaking, the more QUALITY websites that link to you, the better. More website links bring more traffic, and that helps boost your web traffic. More importantly, Google counts every link to your website as a vote of sorts. If you get a lot of good “votes” from other relevant and reputable websites, Google will reward you with higher rankings in the search engine results and you’ll get even more visibility and traffic. Google generates far more traffic than any of the other search engines, including Bing(Microsoft), Yahoo and all the other search engines combined, so being high on the Google search engine results is what it’s all about! Amazon search and YouTube & Video search need to be taken into account, as search share of voice is given more to platforms other than Google.

If you do nothing else, installing analytics software is the one SEO tip you must try. Free, flexible and powerful, Google Analytics lets you track how many people are using your website, and what they do when they are there. Users will occasionally come to a page that doesn't exist on your site, either by following a broken link
or typing in the wrong URL. Having a custom 404 page that kindly guides users back to a working
page on your site can greatly improve a user's experience. Your 404 page should probably have a link
back to your root page and could also provide links to popular or related content on your site. Increase visibility to new content you create by sharing it on social networks and building links to your content (both internally and from external sites). You should also monitor trends to see what popular long tail keywords people are searching for and make sure you monitor social media as well. There are numerous ways to monitor trends you can use Google’s own Trends search tool, YouTube’s keyword search tool and there’s many more methods you can use as well. Whether you migrate to HTTPS for SEO or security, it’s now evident that using HTTPS is quickly becoming a necessity for most websites.
Not all negative SEO attacks are readily noticeable

Whenever doing a website redesign, I think it’s so important to
reassess the purpose of each page. If you don’t learn anything
from the page, neither will your viewers!
Building out a navigation map that takes SEO into consideration
will save you a lot of heartache throughout your project! Most of your link authority is on your homepage, right? So, it makes sense that the more clicks away from your homepage a product page gets, the less authority it has. Keep your descriptions under 150 characters to avoid a trail off (…). This shows visitors that you have intentionally put up an informative and helpful description, opposed to the randomly generated one that Google pulls for non-optimised pages.
